It was the perfect backdrop for a day of college football.

Finally, that crisp autumn air was a little “nippier” and it was starting to feel like something special was going to happen. Continue reading “Nightmare In Dixie: Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs Give State Of Georgia Their Worst 48-Hours In Sports History (Part 2)”

It’s been nine, frustratingly long years since an American hoisted the US Open, or any grand slam trophy.

The last man to do so, Andy Roddick, retired after his fourth-round loss to Juan Martin del Potro, yesterday. A somewhat unceremonious end to a great career altered drastically by the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. NBA Offseason 2012: Kyrie Irving Challenges Kobe Bryant and Team USA Looks

Kyrie Irving might be fast becoming my favorite Duke player of all-time.

And I’m not a Duke fan.

Irving challenged Kobe Bryant to a game of 1-on-1 for charity ($50,000 donation) next summer and upon hearing this I immediately got so excited it shocked me. Check out the exchange provided by DukeBluePlanet Youtube page

Also, you can’t really fault Kobe’s bravado; especially considering who he is. But ummmm Kyrie not dribbling? He might wanna check the practice tape.

Major League Baseball 2012: Los Angeles Angels May Prove To Be Best In The West After All

(Chris Carlson/ AP)

Before this season I loved what the Angels had put together out in Anaheim. They had the best staff in that division, the second best player in baseball, and arguably one of the top three managers in baseball.

Then they stumbled out of the gate to 10-17. Continue reading “Major League Baseball 2012: Los Angeles Angels May Prove To Be Best In The West After All”

Boston Celtics Set The Blue Print For Modern “Big Three’s.” Can They Beat What They’ve Created?

In the first game of the Eastern Conference finals the Boston Celtics looked all but powerless against the Miami Heat.

It was a far cry from their 2008 NBA championship season when they were the 66-16 and the epitome of what the modern-day “big three” should look like. Pierce, Allen, and Garnett set the tone for every season that followed as they’ve made it to the conference finals every season since they’ve been together. This season, however, they are up against an opponent they may prove more difficult than any other they have faced in their time together.

Time itself.  Continue reading “Boston Celtics Set The Blue Print For Modern “Big Three’s.” Can They Beat What They’ve Created?”
