Major League Baseball Notes 5/3/2012: Jered “Dream” Weaver Throws No-Hitter

Jered Weaver used to be known as “the reluctant one.” There was nothing reluctant about his gem Wednesday night as he threw a no-hitter against the Twins and further solidified his place atop the rotation.  Continue reading “Major League Baseball Notes 5/3/2012: Jered “Dream” Weaver Throws No-Hitter”

Late edition of my weekly power rankings this weekend after a packed weekend. The Rangers, Nationals, Braves and Dodgers continue their recent stretches of great baseball, the Boston Red Sox have shown new life, and one team takes a nosedive. On to it!

  1. Texas Rangers (17-6)- Since his first start, Yu Darvish has given up three earned runs in 27.1 innings pitched; striking out 28 batters and lowering his season opening ERA from 7.94 to 2.18 to go along with a 4-0 start. NBA Playoffs 2012: Eastern Conference May Lack Intrigue After Derrick Rose Injury

It was an unfortunate turn of events that saw a city’s collective heart skip a beat. Atlanta Braves Employing A New (Old) Key To Success

Throughout the 90’s and into the 2000’s the Atlanta Braves perched atop the National League East (and the old National West) was as common as the sequence of months on the calendar.

I’ll give you this moment to scream “its early” before I continue. Feel better? Continue reading “Are The Marlins Underachieving, Or Did We Fall Victim To The Hype Machine?”
