Bill Belichick, New England Patriots Benefit From Geography, Not Moves Like This

bos_g_belichick-welker_mb_576There’s arrogance, and then there’s Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.

By now we all know that Wes Welker will no longer be catching passes from Tom Brady. Welker, who was franchised by the Patriots last season, signed with the Denver Broncos for two-years, $12 million dollars. Mike Wallace appears headed to South Beach

Well the Monopoly money flew today, and as expected some NFL free agents cashed in.

I’m going to be completely honest in saying I’m all for people getting paid what they deserve, but to see where some of the names landed never ceases to amaze me. Continue reading “Thoughts on Seahawks Trade; Why Mike Wallace Signing Is A Bad Move For Miami”

Well, I do, which made yesterday that much sweeter. Continue reading “Flawed, But Tested Atlanta Falcons Show What Matters In Playoff Win Over Seattle Seahawks”

National Football League 2012: The Dallas Cowboys Problem Isn’t Jerry Jones, Its Their Past

I’ve been thinking about this for a little while because it has been puzzling me.

I’ve been thinking about how the Dallas Cowboys, “America’s Team”, “The Star” could go from such unmatched success to such a decline. I’ve heard every excuse imaginable from the media, fans, the team itself, other players, etc., but I decided (because I’ve been that drained from standardized testing study) to spend some of my free time trying to solve one of professional sports most intriguing mysteries.

What is the problem in Dallas? Continue reading “National Football League 2012: The Dallas Cowboys Problem Isn’t Jerry Jones, Its Their Past”

National Football League 2012: New York Giants Antrel Rolle’s Words For Bengals Star AJ Green Could Come Back To Haunt Him

I expect to see this more than once on Sunday from A.J. Green

I know what A.J. Green meant, and I can assure you it was nothing more than a passing comment.

But when New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle decided to up the ante with his response to Green’s assessment that the Giants have “a lot of holes” in their defense he opened a can of worms he may well regret this Sunday when the two teams meet in Cincinnati.  Continue reading “National Football League 2012: New York Giants Antrel Rolle’s Words For Bengals Star AJ Green Could Come Back To Haunt Him”

National Football League 2012: Doug Martin Or Andrew Luck For Offensive Rookie Of The Year? Lets Talk About It

Andrew Luck has passed for 2,404 yards and 10 touchdowns

This morning I was watching ESPN’s Sportscenter to come down from the political haze that blanketed the country. Just when I thought the debating was over Adam Schefter said something that immediately made me reach for the old laptop:

“While Doug Martin has been sensational….Offensive Rookie Of The Year has to go to Andrew Luck. He’s been everything we expected from the number one draft pick.”

Ummm, excuse me? Continue reading “National Football League 2012: Doug Martin Or Andrew Luck For Offensive Rookie Of The Year? Lets Talk About It”

NFL Fantasy Football 2012: How Doug Martin Of The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Became THAT Guy

I had all the excitement in the world this weekend.

I took my engagement photos in Lexington, Virginia with my beautiful fiancée, my beloved University of Georgia Bulldogs kicked Ole Miss around to the tune of 37-10 (ONE step closer to back-to-back SEC East titles and causing another offseason of THIS from Steve Spurrier) and things were looking great for the Falcons improving to 8-0 Sunday night against the Cowboys.

I mean, things were PERFECT.

Then it happened. I got this funny feeling in my stomach around Thursday or Friday when I looked at the match-ups for fantasy football. I didn’t like how things were shaping up. Continue reading “NFL Fantasy Football 2012: How Doug Martin Of The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Became THAT Guy”
