Week 8.

That was when my decision was made that the Denver Broncos had a defense we all needed to pay attention to.

Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback Carson Palmer (4,671 yards, 35 TD’s, 104.6% Rating) left a lot to be desired in getting his first career playoff victory last week against the Green Bay Packers. Things don’t get easier against the Carolina Panthers this weekend, either. (AP Photo/Rick Scuteri)

If you haven’t yet, check out my AFC Championship Game thoughts and prediction, here

Two points. One half.

That’s the reason I’m writing about the Carolina Panthers hosting the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. (more…)

NFL Playoffs 2015: NFC Divisional Round A Proving Ground For Packers, Seahawks

NFC Championship - San Francisco 49ers v Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson (4,024 yards, 34 TD’s, 110.1 Rating) has been nothing short of sensational in 2015; and in his last four meetings against the Panthers (including postseason) he’s posted totals of 1,028 yards, 6 TD’s, 1 INT, and a 109.8 Rating. More importantly? The Seahawks are 3-1 in those games. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

One of the best parts about sports, for me, is the competition when something is on the line. It’s that competition when you’re so close to achieving the ultimate goal that makes everything about practicing and playing worth it. Which is why this week’s NFC Divisional match ups has me so excited for football this weekend. Fantasy Football 2015: Week 13 Waiver Wire Targets, And Playoffs?

DougBaldwin

The Seahawks’ Doug Baldwin could be in line for a nice string of matchups the next four weeks. Just in time to carry you into the playoffs and beyond.

Ladies and gentleman, we’ve come to week 13.

If your commissioner knows what they’re doing (and I assume they all do) then this week should wrap up the regular season for your fantasy leagues. Now is the time when not just money, bragging rights, and personal dignity is on the line; but the opportunity to achieve all of those things is on the line.  (more…)

2015 NFL Preview: NFC Division Predictions

I like Seattle to win the NFC West again in 2015 despite a holdout from Kam Chancellor. But a division rival might have the last laugh in playoffs. (AP Photo/John Froschauer)

Division and playoff predictions are tricky in the NFL.

Every week a team can look like a “team to beat” or the worst team you’ve ever seen. With the NFL only playing 16 games, one could put themselves in a situation to be roundly criticized for picking the wrong team without the benefit of hindsight.  (more…)

Consistency plagued the Panthers in 2014. Will Cam Newton get this team to the heights expected of them in 2015? (Photo by: Streeter Lecka/Getty Images North America)

Leading up to the start of the 2015 NFL season I will be previewing last year’s playoff teams and their chances for making it back to the postseason

2014 Overview:

Record: 7-8-1 (1st, NFC South)

Key Additions: Devin Funchess (41st Overall Pick, 2015 Draft), Cameron Artis-Payne (174th Overall Pick, 2015 Draft), Shaq Thompson (25th overall Pick, 2015 Draft)

Key Losses: Thomas Decoud (Release) (more…)

2015 NFL Draft: The Picks And Classes I Didn’t Like

Arik Armstead was chosen 17th overall by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2015 NFL Draft

Arik Armstead was chosen 17th overall by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2015 NFL Draft

I’ve highlighted the best of the draft, now it’s time to take a look at the teams I thought didn’t get it right. Some of the usual suspects (Jets, Browns, Oakland) won’t be mentioned this time around because I thought they made some pretty good picks overall.

Who made the worst list? Let’s see… (more…)

Fantasy Football 2014: What’s Real, What’s Not On The Waivers After Week 2

New York Giants Tight End Larry Donnell (12 receptions, 137 yards, TD) has become a key cog in the passing game

New York Giants Tight End Larry Donnell (12 receptions, 137 yards, TD) has become a key cog in the passing game for Eli Manning and the rest of the struggling group

We’re going to try to make this as consistent as possible as the season goes on. I seem to be creating quite the buzz when it comes to waiver pickups so I’m happy it’s at least useful. (more…)
