The NFL MVP Race Is Between Matt Ryan And Aaron Rodgers, So Here’s Who Wins It

Aaron Rodgers

There have been a lot of names thrown out regarding this seasons NFL MVP award. Ezekiel “Zeke” Elliott. David Johnson. Tom Brady. All of them have been discussed and all of that discussion had merit.

Emphasis on ‘had’.  Continue reading “The NFL MVP Race Is Between Matt Ryan And Aaron Rodgers, So Here’s Who Wins It”

NFL Playoffs 2015: NFC Divisional Round A Proving Ground For Packers, Seahawks

NFC Championship - San Francisco 49ers v Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson (4,024 yards, 34 TD’s, 110.1 Rating) has been nothing short of sensational in 2015; and in his last four meetings against the Panthers (including postseason) he’s posted totals of 1,028 yards, 6 TD’s, 1 INT, and a 109.8 Rating. More importantly? The Seahawks are 3-1 in those games. (Photo by Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

One of the best parts about sports, for me, is the competition when something is on the line. It’s that competition when you’re so close to achieving the ultimate goal that makes everything about practicing and playing worth it. Which is why this week’s NFC Divisional match ups has me so excited for football this weekend. NFL Playoffs 2015: NFC Wild Card Weekend Primer

NFL: Washington Redskins at Minnesota Vikings
Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has completed close to 70% of his passes in leading Minnesota to the playoffs. He’ll have his work cut out for him against Seattle’s defense on Sunday. (Photo Credit: Bruce Kluckhohn/USA TODAY Sports)

Let’s just jump right in.

I want this match up to be closer.  Continue reading “NFL Playoffs 2015: NFC Wild Card Weekend Primer”

Fantasy Football 2015: Thursday Night Football Audible For Packers Vs. Lions

So you’re nervous about Aaron Rodgers.

I figured I would just jump right to it; Rodgers hasn’t been great since the Packers came off their Bye week. But he hasn’t been terrible, and he isn’t the one you should worry about.  Continue reading “Fantasy Football 2015: Thursday Night Football Audible For Packers Vs. Lions”

Fantasy Football 2015: Week 4 Waiver Wire Targets

I've officially decided Colby Fleener, despite being less talented, is the Tight End to own forever in Indianapolis.

On Bye: Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots

Before I get into telling you about guys you probably will curse me for later (I apologize for Chris Polk and Brandon Weeden being bad football players), let’s talk about the power of knowing your situation.  Continue reading “Fantasy Football 2015: Week 4 Waiver Wire Targets”

Fantasy Football 2015: Thoughts On Eagles Troubles, Odell Beckham Jr.’s Breakout and More

Dion Lewis has 258 total yards (109 rushing, 149 receiving) and a touchdown through two games this season. His versatility and (apparent) heavy usage in the Patriots backfield make him a must own in all formats. (Photo: Bleacher Report)

Week 2 of the NFL season is done, and for some so are your fantasy hopes. Yes I realize how ridiculous that last statement sounded but the really ridiculous part is some people actually feel that way.

Don’t. This is when it can get really fun. Continue reading “Fantasy Football 2015: Thoughts On Eagles Troubles, Odell Beckham Jr.’s Breakout and More”

2015 NFL Preview: NFC Division Predictions

I like Seattle to win the NFC West again in 2015 despite a holdout from Kam Chancellor. But a division rival might have the last laugh in playoffs. (AP Photo/John Froschauer)

Division and playoff predictions are tricky in the NFL.

Every week a team can look like a “team to beat” or the worst team you’ve ever seen. With the NFL only playing 16 games, one could put themselves in a situation to be roundly criticized for picking the wrong team without the benefit of hindsight.  Continue reading “2015 NFL Preview: NFC Division Predictions”

Fantasy Football 2014: Fantasy Football Quarterback Tiers Done My Way

Jekyll and Hyde?: Games 1-8: Stafford's numbers were 2,617 yards, 16 TD's, 6 INT's and a 94.7 rating. Games 9-16: 2,033 yards, 13 TD's, 13 INT's and a 72.1 rating
Jekyll and Hyde?: Stafford’s first-half numbers (2,617 yards, 16 TD’s, 6 INT’s and a 94.7 rating) didn’t resemble anything he did in the second-half ( 2,033 yards, 13 TD’s, 13 INT’s and a 72.1 rating)

The quarterback position is the most important position in fantasy football.

Go ahead and disagree. I say that without a hint of reservation or sarcasm. It doesn’t make sense to place the hopes of a well drafted team in the hands of someone who isn’t going to consistently give you the production you need from, what should be, the steadiest spot on your roster. National Football League 2014: Some Friends And I Ranked All 32 NFL Quarterbacks, The Results Were Interesting

Joe Flacco and Ben Roesthlisberger both own Super Bowl rings, but didn't get much top-10 love in the rankings
Joe Flacco (average rank: 12.5) and Ben Roesthlisberger (average rank: 11.3) both own Super Bowl rings, but didn’t get much top-10 love in the rankings

I thought it would be fun to ask a few of my friends to rank all 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL as they saw fit. As you can expect, once some of them (myself included) got into the process they realized that ranking them was more difficult than first thought. Fantasy Football 2013: Quarterback Position Is Deep, But Not As Deep As Advertised

Robert Griffin III was sensational year one, which is why it pains me to take a pass on him year two
Robert Griffin III was sensational year one, which is why it pains me to take a pass on him year two

A narrative I keep hearing this season is that the quarterback position this season is as “deep as it has ever been.” I would argue that while that statement could be true, don’t get caught waiting. Continue reading “Fantasy Football 2013: Quarterback Position Is Deep, But Not As Deep As Advertised”
