You will no doubt rely on them at least once this season. Those bargain players that get you by on a bye week or through a tough stretch of injuries or suspensions. They’re always on the waiver wire, a Branden Oliver or Chris Sims.  Continue reading “Fantasy Football 2015: Fantasy Football “Bargain” Players (A.K.A. Marcus Mariota finished his debut 7-of-8 with 94 yards and an interception. However there is a lot he can build on.

Dez Bryant (L) and Tony Romo are two reasons I really like Dallas in 2015. It's the other reasons I picked them to fall just short of the playoffs. (Michael Ainsworth/ The Dallas Morning News)

Vic Beasley was taken with the 8th overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Vic Beasley was taken with the 8th overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2015 NFL Draft.

2015 NFL Draft is in the books.

The first thing I am going to let you know is I don’t do “Draft Grades.” I’m not a teacher, and this was not a test. With that, what you will find here is my opinion/analysis of what teams I thought did the best addressing their needs and who didn’t.

That’s it. Pretty simple.

Onward then… Continue reading “2015 NFL Draft: The Picks And Classes I Liked”

Fantasy Football 2014: Fantasy Football Quarterback Tiers Done My Way

Jekyll and Hyde?: Games 1-8: Stafford's numbers were 2,617 yards, 16 TD's, 6 INT's and a 94.7 rating. Games 9-16: 2,033 yards, 13 TD's, 13 INT's and a 72.1 rating
Jekyll and Hyde?: Stafford’s first-half numbers (2,617 yards, 16 TD’s, 6 INT’s and a 94.7 rating) didn’t resemble anything he did in the second-half ( 2,033 yards, 13 TD’s, 13 INT’s and a 72.1 rating)

The quarterback position is the most important position in fantasy football.

Go ahead and disagree. I say that without a hint of reservation or sarcasm. It doesn’t make sense to place the hopes of a well drafted team in the hands of someone who isn’t going to consistently give you the production you need from, what should be, the steadiest spot on your roster. I can’t believe it is that time of year already.

When The Worldwide Leader begins their annual camping trips to places like Flowery Branch, GA, Oxnard, CA, and Bourbonnais, IL that can only mean one thing: training camp is starting for the NFL. Continue reading “NFL Preview 2014: First Things First, Lets Talk Top-5 Training Camp Questions”

National Football League 2014: Some Friends And I Ranked All 32 NFL Quarterbacks, The Results Were Interesting

Joe Flacco and Ben Roesthlisberger both own Super Bowl rings, but didn't get much top-10 love in the rankings
Joe Flacco (average rank: 12.5) and Ben Roesthlisberger (average rank: 11.3) both own Super Bowl rings, but didn’t get much top-10 love in the rankings

I thought it would be fun to ask a few of my friends to rank all 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL as they saw fit. As you can expect, once some of them (myself included) got into the process they realized that ranking them was more difficult than first thought. Fantasy Football 2013: Week 3 Recap, Week 4 Advice, And The Mike Glennon Project

Terrell Pryor has played his way into QB1 conversation, but steer clear of Matt Flynn if Pryor is out week 4
Terrell Pryor has played his way into QB1 conversation, but steer clear of Matt Flynn if Pryor is out week 4

A day late is better than never, right? So to recap, in my four leagues I am (2-1) and still not satisfied. I think the primary reason for that dissatisfaction are because Ray Rice is hurt (hip) and Colin Kaepernick isn’t playing at a high level as of yet. Speaking of Kaepernick, the prevailing question I’ve had all week is should you be worried about his performance.  Continue reading “Fantasy Football 2013: Week 3 Recap, Week 4 Advice, And The Mike Glennon Project”
